Aytthaya - the capital of Thailand

Ayutthaya is an ancient capital of Thailand, and was founded in 1350 by King Ramathibodi I. E 'is still the capital of Thailand for almost 417 years. Ayutthaya was ruled by 33 kings of five dynasties. The city was named for the home branch of Ayutthaya in the Indian epic Ramayana, and the means invincible.

During the first 180 years, Ayutthaya is a very quiet and not go to war with its neighbors. The main activity ofthe city was trade. But after the death of King Ramathibodi, for the first time the city was involved in a war with Burma in 1529. After ending the city to fight many wars. Ayutthaya was beaten by the Burmese in 1569. After fifteen years the city was conquered by King Naresuan. The city continues to grow over the next 118 years and was then attacked and destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767. The capital was later moved to Thonburi King Tuskdefeated the Burmese. After his reign, the capital moved to Bangkok by King Rama I

The city was destroyed in the forest left intact for over a hundred years. Ayutthaya was 85 kilometers north of Bangkok, where there are still ruins of the ancient city. The ruins indicate that Ayutthaya was one of the major cities of Thailand. The city covers an area of 2556 square kilometers.

In modern times, tourists can easily access from the street, the river andRailways, and is one of the most popular attractions of Thailand.
